With mid-summer just ahead, last weekend, we went to inspect the Sjoa Kayak Camp, to see if it made it through the winter. The good news, other than the grass needing cutting, was the place is it’s prefect serene self on the banks of the Sjoa just above Åmot. This weekend, we open, the new Camp Manager, Isabel arrives from Switzerland, and a team from Gene17kayaking & Strie Strømmer, will be gardening all day on Saturday.
We’ll have a range of Test Boats on site to hire, these are supplied from both Strie Strømmer & Gene17kayaking, a list of which we’ll have up soon. News from the Sjoa valley, is that Pensj is open again Wednesdays and Saturdays, Jølgen’s is not worked this season, the wave at Skjåk after some work is still not it’s great self and there is a lot of snow in the hills, as spring has been cold.
That’s about all for now, the Sjoa River Festival booking should be online this weekend, a mist us cutting the grass and having the place ready for paddlers.
